North Sydney Vs Strathfield Cup!

On Friday 28th August North Sydney and Strathfield took to the Homebush Indoor Sports Centre, home to intense Olympic competitions, saw some fierce competition. Playing indoor netball and indoor soccer the two campuses battled it out for pride, glory and a HUUUUGE shield that will remain at the winning campus. Despite the way the competition seemed to fall into place thanks to some great organising from the Sport and Recreation convenors, this was the first ever Intercampus Cup!

Netball

On the day Strathfield won the Netball leg of the competitions winning 2 out of the 3 games played.

"It looked easier when my sister played" said Morgan Armstrong from North Sydney.

"Im not nearly as fit as I used to be...I was happy to be captain from the sideline" said Bec McKiernan from North Sydney

Soccer

Out of the 9 games of Soccer, Strathfield only managed to win 2, with North Sydney's 3 teams working on a dominating rotation! The ball flew all around the court at high speeds as the teams worked hard to get their campus that Shield! The greatest score line was North Syd 7 - O Strathfield and the team was "very happy with the performance" said Marco Villella North Sydney Campus Student Association Vice-President.

"My legs are going to hurt tomorrow!" said Josh Ang from North Sydney

All in all, it was great to see a great range of students from each campus, both local and international! Very memorable event that will no doubt be repeated for many years to come!

"This was a great event and will be repeated for many years to come!" said David Vu, Sport and Recreation convenor at North Sydney
